Medvedev defaulted from China Open semi-final for hitting spectator

Daniil Medvedev was defaulted – disqualified – from his China Open semi-final in Beijing, sending Novak Djokovic through. He trailed 7-5 5-3, 15-15 on Djokovic's serve, when he swiped a rebound in annoyance into the stand, striking a front-row spectator in the face. BBC Sport reported the man left holding his eye.
