Ba's Book re-enacts father's past with family cast in Vietnam

Ashley Duong cast her family in Vietnam to perform recreations of her father's memoir in Ba's Book, according to She Does The City. She staged the recreation alongside relatives on location, TIFF listings say, and returned to her ancestral village, according to her official website. Re-enactment means actors replay past events for camera.
