World No.34 Nikola Bartunkova beat second seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 6-3 in the China Open third round in Beijing on 4 October. Seeding keeps players apart early. Bartunkova won in 1 hour 35 minutes with four aces. It was the 20-year-old Czech's first win over a Top 3 player. She was scheduled to face Sinja Kraus in the last 16.
