UAE Says Co-Pilot Tried to Seize Dubai-Tel Aviv Flight

The United Arab Emirates says first officer Hamam al-Hamami tried to seize FlyDubai Flight FZ1073, the 30 September Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight, in what it calls a terrorist attack. Investigators say the Omani co-pilot attacked Capt. Smit Machchhar for control. The case raises difficult questions about insider threats on politically sensitive routes and split authority among investigators.
