Universal Music Canada laid off staff across several departments, Billboard reported on Oct. 2. Staff were told at a Sept. 29 town hall. Sources cited by Billboard Canada put the cuts at more than 12 roles, about 6-7% of a roughly 205-person workforce cited from a 2025 annual report. Universal Music Canada declined to comment on employee relations.
