Michael McDonald meets biological son placed for adoption as baby

Doobie Brothers singer Michael McDonald met his biological son, 59-year-old Michael Goessling, about a year and a half ago, Billboard reported on 2 October 2026. Goessling, from St Louis, was placed for adoption as a baby and did not know his birth parents until last year, when he received a letter saying they wanted to meet him.
