Lula Holds Rio March Ahead of Brazil Presidential Vote

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva led a victory march through central Rio de Janeiro on 2 October ahead of Brazil's 4 October presidential vote. He told supporters: "What's at stake is not the victory of one man, it is the victory of an idea, it's the victory of democracy." He added: "Either we consolidate democracy, or we will lose it."
