Korir reached Commonwealth final after three childhood fistula operations

Kenyan middle-distance runner Naomi Korir, 28, was born with a genitourinary tract fistula, an opening between bladder and vagina causing urine leakage. She shortened races to cope, switching to 100m hurdles. Two operations failed. A third in Eldoret in August 2013, aged 13, brought relief. She later finished fifth in the Commonwealth mile final in Glasgow.
