10-year Treasury yield eases to 5.26% after 24-year high
5.26% is the number to watch. Reuters reports the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield fell to around 5.26% on Oct. 1, 2026, after touching 5.342% that morning as buyers stepped in. Yield, the yearly payout, falls when prices rise. In my view, buyers first demanded higher pay. That helps savers, hurts borrowers.
