Aaron Sorkin called Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen before her 2023 memoir The Power of One reached readers to discuss a social-media project, Haugen told The Hollywood Reporter. Sorkin then optioned the memoir, an exclusive paid right to make a film, and began work on The Social Reckoning from it, she told the trade.
