Venezuela's Main Airport May Become a Bottleneck for Earthquake Relief

Two earthquakes—magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5—struck Venezuela on June 24–25, killing at least 188 and injuring over 1,520. Simón Bolívar International Airport in La Guaira, the country's primary relief hub, hasn't been confirmed structurally sound. Even minor runway or terminal damage would choke incoming relief flights. Venezuela's existing fuel and supply shortages mean airport constraints could cripple rescue operations already straining an underfunded emergency system.
