Edi Gathegi has joined Universal Pictures' Miami Vice '85 as a small-time crook with big-time ambitions who is in over his head, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 30 September 2026. He joins Michael B. Jordan as Ricardo Tubbs and Austin Butler as James Crockett in the Joseph Kosinski-directed film, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
