Austrian Roman site may be lost city of Claudivium

Researchers in Austria have uncovered a Roman settlement that may be the lost city of Claudivium, ARTnews reported on 29 September 2026. People reported on 28 September 2026 that the site began in about AD 80 and includes an 8,000-seat amphitheatre, an oval arena building for public shows.
