Former Speaker Adrian Rurawhe has died after a recent illness, his family said, according to RNZ. Rurawhe was the MP for Te Tai Hauāuru, a Māori electorate, and served as Speaker, the MP who chairs Parliament. He will lie in state — rest at Whangaehu Marae for people to pay respects — before burial at Ngā Puketuurua Ratana Pa.
