The View hosts call Madonna VMAs backlash ageism

The View co-hosts defended Madonna on 28 September, saying backlash to her VMAs performance was ageism, according to Billboard. Alyssa Farah Griffin said Madonna was criticised for being too overtly sexual and trying to look too young: 'you can't win no matter what direction you take it.' Madonna, 68, made her first VMAs performance in 23 years.
