Red chalk drawing of child in Italy attributed to Manet

An art historian has attributed a red chalk drawing of a crouching child in a private Italian collection to French artist Édouard Manet, The Guardian reported 28 September 2026. Attribution is the formal decision that a work is by a named artist. The Guardian described the sheet as rediscovered.
