Larissa Waters to quit as Greens leader on health grounds

Larissa Waters is stepping down as Greens leader. On 28 September 2026 she said her pre-existing kidney disease — a long-term kidney condition — had got much worse in recent months. She said the extra travel of leadership doesn't fit with getting better. Her outlook, she says, is positive.
