NFL overrun delays VMAs simulcast by over 20 minutes

CBS, MTV and Paramount+ joined the 2026 VMAs more than 20 minutes late on Sept. 27 after an overrun, meaning live sport held its slot, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The Ravens-Cowboys game in Rio caused the hold. The Peacock Theater room started on time at 4:30 p.m. PT. MTV aired a pretaped retrospective saying it would “begin shortly.”
