Probst says Survivor casting unchanged after Paramount DEI rollback

Survivor’s diverse casting remains unchanged despite Paramount’s 2025 rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, shortened to DEI, Variety reported on 27 September 2026. Showrunner Jeff Probst told The New York Times “nothing has changed”. He said the show casts diversely because the story needs it, keeping the 2020 50% people of colour target in practice.
