Cardiff beat Scarlets 21-15 in URC Welsh derby opener

Cardiff opened the United Rugby Championship with a 21-15 Welsh derby win over Scarlets in Llanelli on Saturday. Leading 14-12 at half-time before 7,073 fans, the visitors held on. Cardiff finished sixth last season, Wales' sole play-off side; Scarlets were 14th.
