Ovrkast denies copying Outkast name in reply to lawsuit

Oakland rapper Ovrkast told Rolling Stone on 26 September he established his professional name independently and never intended to copy Outkast or confuse fans. He said he respects the duo and hopes for a resolution allowing his hip-hop career to continue. Outkast allege trademark infringement in a 31-page Georgia complaint.
