Trump Says He Likes a Weaker Dollar

President Trump said he's pleased the dollar is weaker, the Wall Street Journal reported Jan. 29, 2026, calling it a longstanding preference. A weaker dollar buys less abroad, which can mean higher import prices for U.S. shoppers but an edge for U.S. exporters. In my view, that's talk, not action yet.
