Universal first studio to pass $5 billion worldwide in 2026

Universal became the first studio to cross $5 billion at the 2026 worldwide box office, Variety reported on 25 September 2026. Variety said the total comprised $1.788 billion domestically, the United States and Canada, and $3.218 billion internationally, and that it was the third $5 billion year after 2015 and 2017.
