BBC Sport ends News channel bulletins, cuts 41 jobs for digital video

BBC Sport will end News channel sports bulletins and cut 41 roles. Decided week of 22 September 2026, it redirects resources to digital video — on-demand clips over scheduled, linear TV. It creates five video and social roles and points to a football YouTube channel up 100,000 subscribers in four months. Whether leaner TV still serves all is open.
