US court orders Switch pirate to pay Nintendo US$4.5 million

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington ordered James Williams, known as Archbox, to pay Nintendo of America US$4.5 million for copying and distributing pirated Nintendo Switch games. Judge Lauren King granted default judgment, issued when a defendant does not respond, in the lawsuit filed in 2024. The sum equals US$150,000 for each of 30 titles.
