Los Alamos laboratory used Bisttram abstractions in scientist recruitment ads

Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in New Mexico used Emil Bisttram's spiritual abstractions in early-1960s recruitment advertisements in trade journals, Artnet News reported. The Taos-based artist's Atom series, brightly coloured geometric works on universal laws, appeared in the laboratory's 1951 'Art and the Atom' exhibition, the report said.
