Reform UK wins first seat on Wakefield Borough Council

Steve Lewis won Normanton ward on Wakefield Borough Council in May, giving Reform UK its first representation on the metropolitan borough council. The seat lies in territory Labour has held for decades — a post-industrial area reshaped by the miners' strike and the 2016 Brexit referendum, which the region backed heavily.
