In Waves becomes first animated opener of American French Film Festival

Phuong Mai Nguyen's In Waves will open the 30th American French Film Festival in Los Angeles on November 3 as first animated opener, Deadline reported September 24. Festival runs November 3-8 at Directors Guild of America, according to festival, with opening night presented in association with Netflix, which acquired global rights outside France after Cannes, Deadline reported.
