Steven Shearer wins 2026 Audain Prize worth C$100,000

The Art Newspaper reported Vancouver painter Steven Shearer has won the 2026 Audain Prize for the Visual Arts and its C$100,000 (US$71,000) award. It said the prize was announced 23 September 2026 in the ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in Vancouver in its 23rd year and that Shearer represented Canada at the Venice Biennale in Venice in 2011.
