U.S. crude stocks fell less than expected

U.S. commercial crude inventories — oil held by companies, excluding the government's emergency reserve — fell 0.6 million barrels to 423.4 million in the week to Sept. 11, the EIA said Sept. 16. Analysts expected a 1.62 million fall, Reuters reported. More supply left on hand can ease pressure on fuel prices.
