Gears of War: E-Day story director laid off ahead of launch

Gears of War: E-Day story director Juan Vaca announced on LinkedIn he was laid off in Microsoft cuts, about a week before early-access launch. Vaca joined developer The Coalition in 2022. Five days earlier he posted that the game had gone gold, the final version approved for production, ahead of its scheduled release date of 6 October.
