Ombudsman seeks urgent meeting on Education Ministry information claims

Chief Ombudsman John Allen has asked for an urgent meeting with Education Secretary Ellen MacGregor-Reid. He said he has significant concerns about claims staff tried to get around the Official Information Act, the law that gives public access to official papers. He is considering a wider inquiry under the Ombudsmen Act 1975. It follows a leaked video on curriculum advice.
