U.S. warns it will ground Iranian airlines Sept. 23

All Iranian airlines will be shut down Sept. 23, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Sept. 21. He told CNBC any company providing fuel, airport landing, or ticket sales to those carriers risks losing access to the dollar system — the U.S.-based network for global payments. That suggests Washington is pushing foreign airports and suppliers to enforce its sanctions.
