U.S. and Iran Meet for Three Hours at U.N. Gathering

The U.S. and Iran talked directly for the first time since June. On Sept. 22, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi for three hours, with Qatar mediating, during informal sideline meetings at the U.N. General Assembly. President Trump disclosed the talks. Witkoff said he felt very good; Trump said another meeting will follow soon.
