US trade book sales set July record at US$745 million

US trade book sales hit a monthly record of US$745 million in July 2026, up 18% on a year earlier, according to Association of American Publishers StatShot data, the industry's monthly tracker. Trade books means general-interest titles sold via bookshops and online. The total beat the prior US$705 million high in July 2021 and followed US$703 million in June.
