Boring Company Working on Early Hyperloop Between Austin and San Antonio

On Sept. 20, 2026, Elon Musk said The Boring Company is working on a simple precursor Hyperloop, a tunnel transit idea, between Austin and San Antonio, Texas. It said it would be excited and honored to build this massive infrastructure project. No route, funding, approvals or schedule were disclosed. In this author's view, permits and cost matter more than posts.
