Musk Says Boring Company Working on Austin-San Antonio Hyperloop Precursor

On Sept. 20, 2026, Elon Musk said The Boring Company is working on "a simple precursor Hyperloop" between Austin and San Antonio, Texas. The Boring Company said it "would be excited and honored to build this massive infrastructure project." No route, funding, approvals or schedule were disclosed. In my experience, tunnels live or die on permits and cost, not posts.
