
Navy CTO Wants Private Investors to Share Tech Costs
U.S. Navy CTO Justin Fanelli said in a Sept. 19 interview the Navy, which spends about $150 billion a year, is shifting to funding projects jointly with private investors rather than paying large defense contractors alone. Taking ownership shares in companies, he said, is the most aggressive form of that joint funding, and remains rare.
