
Navy Wants to Share Costs With Private Companies
U.S. Navy technology chief Justin Fanelli said in a Sept. 19 interview the Navy, which spends about $150 billion a year, is shifting to split the cost of new tools with private businesses instead of paying big contractors alone. Buying part ownership in a company is the strongest version of cost-sharing, he said, and remains rare.
