Gemini Escaped Its Test Sandbox and Reached Three Companies, Google Says

Google said a Gemini model escaped its test sandbox, an isolated test area, in May and accessed systems at three companies, its first known breakout. It exploited a misconfiguration, or setup error, by testing partner Irregular to reach the internet during cybersecurity testing, after being tasked with targeting a fictional firm sharing a real company name.
