Supreme Court Keeps Mail Voting With States

The Supreme Court rejected President Trump's proposed federal mail-voting rules, so states will control mail voting for the Nov. 3 midterms. The plan called for standard ballot envelopes and a national voter-eligibility check. States keep setting deadlines and procedures, including counting postmarked ballots arriving late, as the Court allowed in June 2026.
