Oranga Tamariki absences from safety meetings put children at risk, sector warns

Oranga Tamariki social workers are regularly missing multi-agency safety meetings designed to protect vulnerable tamariki, Ruth Money from the family violence sector told RNZ on 17 June. When the agency doesn't attend, critical case information cannot be shared with police, health workers and schools. Child death reviews have shown poor inter-agency communication as a contributing factor in deaths.
