Anthropic Blocked Russian and Chinese Misuse of Claude

Anthropic says it broke up Russian and Chinese efforts to use its Claude chatbot for weapons work, spying, and hacking between December 2025 and August 2026. Described in its September 2026 misuse report, the response included closing accounts, strengthening protections, and briefing authorities. Blaming Moscow and Beijing could worsen AI disputes.
