Anthropic Disrupted Russian and Chinese Use of Claude for Weapons and Spying

Anthropic said it disrupted Russian and Chinese campaigns that used Claude for weapons-related work, spying and cyber operations. The activity, spanning December 2025 to August 2026, is detailed in its September 2026 misuse report. Anthropic says it shut accounts, tightened safeguards and shared intelligence with authorities.
