HPV Vaccine Prevented Hundreds of Cervical Cancers in Young English Women

England's HPV vaccination programme prevented an estimated 448 cervical cancer cases in women under 30 between 2016 and 2019, NHS data shows. This is the first direct evidence the vaccine works at a population level. England's vaccination rates—77% for women, 71% for men—still fall short of the 90% needed to eliminate the disease.
