Colombia's Drone Attacks Jump 146% in Early 2026

Armed groups in Colombia carried out 121 explosive drone attacks from January to May 2026, up 146% from the same period in 2025, Ombudsman Iris Marin said Sept. 17. The pace suggests cheap, store-bought drones fitted with explosives are becoming a standard weapon for the country's armed groups.
