Mellody Hobson steps down from LA28 board to focus on Lucas Museum

Mellody Hobson stepped down from LA28, the Los Angeles Olympics organising committee, Variety confirmed on Sept. 17. She told Variety demands of overseeing the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, co-founded with husband George Lucas, were too great to continue. The museum is scheduled to open Sept. 22, 2026, according to the Lucas Museum.
