UN to Replace UNData With Google-Built Search System for AI

The United Nations said Sept. 17, 2026 it will launch the UN System Data Commons with Google, replacing UNData. Built on Google's open-source Data Commons platform, it allows plain-English search across UN agencies and lets AI assistants retrieve data directly via Model Context Protocol, a standard connector for AI tools.
