Meta Ordered to Remove AI Deepfake Targeting Scottish Councillor Over Refugees

Meta's Oversight Board ordered Meta to remove a Facebook deepfake, an AI-made fake, falsely showing a Scottish Labour councillor saying: "Refugees are welcome here, even if they rape our women, because white people do that too." Mismatched audio and lips showed AI manipulation and it broke hate rules on refugees. Meta had left it up.
