Bungie denies Marathon-Destiny merger claim as fake

Bungie will not merge Marathon and Destiny. Creative director Julia Nardin called the claim fake in a post on X on 16 September 2026. She said the games share Bungie DNA but are independent entities like siblings. The denial answers a leak that originated on 4Chan and was collated on Reddit claiming a single-franchise test.
